Currently working on an order for a Walnut Chair to be sent to New Jersey...
2 June 2008: Purchased the hardwood from my local supplier. It is a beautiful pile of lumber, hard to see the details until it gets planed.
My new planer will be here by the weekend and we can get started!
In the meantime all new lighting is being installed in the shop.
30 June 2008:
Final assembly was completed over the weekend. Leg to rocker joint shaping and final sanding took place today.
The first coat of finish went on today...all pictures are thumbnails...click to enlarge.
20 June 2008:
The walnut chair is well underway, about 20 hours into the project thus far.
The goal of this weekend is to get the legs shaped, sanded and attached to the seat.
Here is the seat, which has undergone its carving and 6 levels of sanding, compared to the arms which have only undergone 2 levels of sanding.
I just delivered a wonderful Curly Maple TV/VCR stand for a local customer in East Aurora, NY...
